GTA 6 / Characters
Lucia Caminos is one of GTA 6's two protagonists, alongside Jason Duval. Rockstar's official profile says her father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk, that fighting for her family landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary, and that sheer luck got her out. It adds that she is committed to her plan, and that a life with Jason could be her way out.
01 / Official bio
01 / Origin
Lucia's father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk.
In the official gym screenshot she wears a gold chain with a small gold pendant.
Theory · per Will Mac
Will Mac reads the pendant as a gold boxing glove that represents her father's influence.
02 / Prison
Fighting for her family landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary.
In the official screenshot of her in an orange prison uniform and handcuffs, no necklace is visible at her neck.
“Lucia... Do you know why you're here? Bad luck, I guess.”
Theory · per Will Mac
Will Mac says the only time she does not wear the pendant is in prison, though it may be standard prison rules.
Inset: Rockstar Games, Trailer 2 (about 2:15)
03 / Release
Sheer luck got her out. Rockstar says Lucia has learned her lesson, with only smart moves from here.
In Trailer 2, a man gives his name as Jason Duval and says he is there for Lucia, who is "supposed to be getting out".
Later, at about 2:15, she walks through a living room in an orange high-visibility vest marked "LDC".
Theory · per Will Mac
Will Mac says she appears to be doing community service, which he reads as fitting supervised-release conditions.
04 / Ambition
More than anything, Lucia wants the good life her mom has dreamed of since their days in Liberty City.
Instead of half-baked fantasies, she is prepared to take matters into her own hands.
Fresh out of prison and ready to change the odds in her favor, she is committed to her plan, no matter what it takes.
“The only thing that matters is who you know and what you got.”
Inset: Rockstar Games, new screenshot, as shown in TGG's video
05 / Partner
A life with Jason could be her way out, Rockstar says.
Game Informer says players can switch between Jason and Lucia at almost any time, and the other is often by your side during missions.
Their partnership cannot be broken up, but can be influenced so they stay friends or become a couple. There is no gameplay benefit either way.
“You and me Lu, we got this. We got it.”
Inset: Rockstar Games, Extended Look screenshot, as shown in TGG's video
06 / Work
Game Informer says places can be robbed alone or as a duo, loud and fast or quiet and thorough. Robbing as a duo grows their relationship.
Official media shows Jason and Lucia robbing local stores such as convenience stores, GTA 6's lowest robbery tier.
The Extended Look also shows both of them armed with rifles in front of an open vault door, banknotes flying around them.
Inset: Rockstar Games, Vintage Vice City Pack pre-order image
07 / Style
Clothes, makeup, hairstyles, headphones/earbuds and car customization are confirmed for Jason and Lucia.
The Vintage Vice City Pack includes a red sequin mini dress and curls for Lucia.

T2 · 2:15Lucia walks through a living room wearing an orange high-visibility vest marked "LDC" while a man sleeps on the couch.
“Lucia... Do you know why you're here? Bad luck, I guess.”
“The only way... We're gonna get through this... Is by sticking together... Being a team.”
“Trust? Trust.”
A man says he is there for Lucia Caminos, who is "supposed to be getting out", and gives his name as Jason Duval when asked.
“The only thing that matters is who you know and what you got. If we're gonna do this, we're doing it right.”
The first sentence is also the quote on her official Only in Leonida panel.
“You and me Lu, we got this. We got it.”
03 / Unconfirmed
Unconfirmed
Rockstar has not announced Lucia's voice actress. The name the community attaches to her is Manni L. Perez, per Will Mac, who calls it technically unconfirmed. Everything below is his account of what the community points to.
Not from Rockstar
Not confirmed by Rockstar — each theory is credited to the creator who made it.
Safehouses will not be purchasable because Jason and Lucia are fugitives on the run from the police. This is the creator's own reasoning, not a Rockstar statement.
Jason and Lucia will each have their own criminal profile, and if they are not on the same page morally it may cause friction between them.
She almost always wears a gold boxing glove pendant necklace, which he reads as representing her father's influence and the fighting spirit he instilled in her.
She is probably Cuban, because she is Latina and Vice City is modelled on a Florida close to Cuba.
The Game Informer screenshot is a stealth mission or stealth approach at what might be a gang compound, and the suppressed rifle is a sign that weapon customisation is deep.
The only time she does not wear the pendant is in prison, which he reads as Rockstar hiding storytelling in a character model, while conceding it may be standard prison rules.
She was into mixed martial arts from a young age because her father put her to fight.
The couple on the striped loungers in Game Informer's beach screenshot are Jason and Lucia, maybe on a date.
She wears an electronic ankle monitor after her release from Leonida Penitentiary.
Something happened to her father in front of her, she fought someone in a bad misunderstanding, and ended up in prison.
The couple on the rocks by the waterfall footbridge are Jason and Lucia, out for a hike or another date.
The ankle monitor is gone in Trailer 2 at 2:26, which he reads as the restriction coming off at some point in the story. Her ankles are not visible in the Trailer 2 frames we checked, so this is his claim only.
In prison she got wind of a big score, told Jason after getting out, and the robbery went wrong, so they are now running from the law.
The new diner screenshot shows Jason and Lucia about to rob something.
The community has theorized that the ankle monitor could work as an early-game map gate, like Vice City's island unlock mechanic.
She drags Jason further into crime, not in a negative way, and Jason will be there for her no matter what.
She appears to be doing community service in Trailer 2, which he reads as fitting supervised-release conditions.
She was released early and on parole (his wording, not Rockstar's).
She could be connected to Luis Lopez of GTA IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony, through Luis's older brother Ernesto Lopez (a fan theory he relays).
In Trailer 1, Jason's hesitation after "trust" is read by the community either as a man burned too many times or as foreshadowing of a betrayal.
A mid-flight cargo plane scene in Trailer 2 seems to show her under attack, and fans ask whether the attacker is an enemy or someone in their circle.
She is the first fully voiced, story-driven, non-optional female lead in the modern Grand Theft Auto series.
