GTA 6 Pre-Load Starts November 10: Times, File Size and Free Map
Rockstar moved the digital GTA 6 pre-load up to November 10, 2026, two days earlier than planned. The start time differs by console, the file runs up to 212 GB, and a free printable Leonida map arrives on launch day.

The GTA 6 digital pre-load starts on November 10, 2026: midnight local time on PS5, and 12am GMT on Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar announced the date on X on November 3, 2026, two days earlier than the November 12 it gave in June. TGG walks through the announcement in his video of the same day. What time does the GTA 6 pre-load start?
Per VideoGamesChronicle, relaying Rockstar, PS5 players get the download at midnight on November 10 in their own time zone. Xbox Series X|S starts at 12am GMT on November 10, which is 4pm PT and 7pm ET on November 9, and 1am CET on November 10 for most of Europe.
Physical copies follow: Rockstar says code-in-box editions should reach retailers from November 12, 2026.
The game itself unlocks later. In a Rockstar support answer that TGG reads on screen, GTA 6 releases at midnight local time on November 19, 2026, in all regions, on both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
How big is the GTA 6 pre-load?
The pre-load file will require up to 212 GB, depending on the device, per VGC. A week earlier TGG had floated about 210 GB as a rumour; Rockstar’s number is the one to plan around. Clear space before November 10, because a download that size will not fit on a nearly full internal drive.
What is the free Leonida map?
On release day, November 19, Rockstar adds a printable cover art poster and a map of Leonida as a free digital download on its website. A double-sided physical poster is sold shortly after launch from the Rockstar Store for $0.99, or free with any Rockstar Store purchase. We already track the state on our GTA 6 map. The announcement also carries a new official Vice City screenshot: a skyline across the water, a long bridge with dense traffic, a crowded key beach with tents and umbrellas, yachts, and purple and orange bear statues standing in the water.
What we still do not know
- Whether the PlayStation “stay tuned” teaser brings PS5 Pro or frame-rate details. TGG hopes so; nothing is confirmed.
- Whether the 212 GB figure is the same on PS5 and Xbox, since Rockstar says it depends on the device.
- What the poster map shows. It is not public until November 19, 2026.
